Course Overview
Duration: 8 weeks (2 months) Level: Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced Format: Online (self-paced + optional live sessions) Prerequisites: None – basic computer skills recommended Objectives: Build solid foundations, master analysis & strategies, develop risk control, and prepare for live trading with discipline.
Week-by-Week Course Content
Week 1: Module 1 – Foundations of Forex Trading (Beginner)
- What is Forex? Market history, size, and participants (banks, institutions, retail traders)
- Forex market structure: Decentralized (OTC), 24/5 trading sessions (Sydney, Tokyo, London, New York)
- Major, minor, and exotic currency pairs
- Key terms: Pip, lot sizes (standard, mini, micro), leverage, margin, spread, bid/ask
- Long vs. short positions, order types (market, limit, stop, pending)
- Brokers: How to choose a regulated broker, demo vs. live accounts Practical: Open a demo account (MT4/MT5/TradingView), place 10 practice trades Homework: Calculate pip value for 5 pairs; journal basic terms
Week 2: Module 2 – Trading Platforms & Basic Chart Reading
- MetaTrader 4/5 setup, navigation, chart customization
- Chart types: Line, bar, candlestick
- Timeframes: M1 to MN (when to use each)
- Basic candlestick patterns: Doji, hammer, shooting star, engulfing
- Support & resistance basics
- Trend lines, channels, horizontal levels Practical: Draw 20 support/resistance zones on major pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD) Homework: Identify bullish/bearish candlesticks in recent charts
Week 3: Module 3 – Technical Analysis Fundamentals
- Japanese candlesticks deep dive (single & multi-candle patterns)
- Chart patterns: Triangles, flags, head & shoulders, double top/bottom
- Trend identification: Uptrend, downtrend, sideways (ranging)
- Moving averages (SMA, EMA – crossovers, support/resistance)
- Basic indicators: RSI (overbought/oversold), MACD (divergence basics) Practical: Backtest 10 simple MA crossover setups on demo Homework: Scan for chart patterns on 5 pairs
Week 4: Module 4 – Advanced Technical Analysis & Price Action
- Market structure: Higher highs/lows, breaks & retests
- Advanced candlestick + price action (pin bars, inside bars, fakey)
- Fibonacci retracement & extension (golden ratios, confluence)
- Support/resistance role reversal, supply/demand zones
- Multi-timeframe analysis (MTF)
- Volume (where applicable in forex) & volatility concepts Practical: Trade 15 price action setups on demo (focus on entries + stops) Homework: Create a confluence checklist (Fib + S/R + candle)
Week 5: Module 5 – Fundamental Analysis & News Trading
- Economic indicators: Interest rates, NFP, CPI, GDP, PMI, retail sales
- Central banks & monetary policy (Fed, ECB, BOJ, etc.)
- News events calendar & high-impact news
- Correlation: Forex with commodities (gold, oil), stocks, bonds
- Carry trade basics
- Sentiment analysis (COT report intro) Practical: Simulate trades around 3 news events (use economic calendar) Homework: Track how 5 news releases moved pairs
Week 6: Module 6 – Trading Strategies & Systems
- Trend following vs. counter-trend vs. range trading
- Scalping, day trading, swing trading (pros/cons/time commitment)
- Simple proven strategies:
- MA crossover + RSI filter
- Price action breakout
- Fibonacci pullback in trend
- News fade/continuation
- Strategy development: Rules, entry/exit, filters
- Backtesting & forward testing basics Practical: Build & test one personal strategy on demo (minimum 30 trades) Homework: Journal strategy performance
Week 7: Module 7 – Risk Management & Money Management (Critical)
- The 1–2% risk rule per trade
- Position sizing calculator (risk-based)
- Stop-loss & take-profit placement (ATR-based)
- Risk-reward ratio (minimum 1:2)
- Drawdown, account protection, scaling in/out
- Trading psychology: Emotions, discipline, revenge trading
- Trading journal & performance review Practical: Risk only 1% on next 20 demo trades; journal emotions Homework: Create a personal risk plan & psychology checklist
Week 8: Module 8 – Advanced Topics, Live Trading Prep & Psychology Mastery
- Multiple strategies combination & portfolio approach
- Advanced indicators: Bollinger Bands, Ichimoku Cloud, Stochastic divergence
- Algorithmic/EA intro (overview only – no coding)
- Prop trading firms & funded accounts basics
- Tax & record-keeping (country-specific note)
- Building a trading plan: Goals, routine, review process
- Transition to live: Small account start, scaling up
- Common mistakes & how to avoid blow-ups Practical: Final demo challenge – achieve consistent profitability over 4 weeks Homework: Write full personal trading plan; prepare for live trading
